Salticidae, are the Family of ‘Jumping Spiders’. I call them the ‘Super Spiders’! By far, these are my favourite of all tiny critters. They tether themselves to a line of silk as they make nearly impossible jumps to quickly (blink of an eye quick) capture their prey. The silk-tether is so that they don’t accidentally fall to the ground and perhaps injure themselves. “Their large anterior eyes…are adapted to detailed, three-dimensional vision for purposes of estimating the range, direction, and nature of potential prey, permitting the spider to direct its attacking leaps with great precision.” (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jumping_spider.)
